McMaster’s Healthy Expansion
McMaster University’s Downtown Health Campus in Hamilton, Ontario, continues expansion on schedule for students and faculty to occupy by November 2014. The 195,000 square-foot LEED-targeted building is a partnership between the University, the City of Hamilton, and the Province of Ontario. The University and Public Health will share the facility.
Rising up 7-stories where the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board building once stood, the concrete and steel structure will be adorned with natural stone, glazing and copper and aluminum panels. This is another Gold Seal managed project by Ball Construction.
Working closely with all three partners, Ball Construction’s construction-management team works diligently to manage costs and ensure the vision of the architects, NORR Limited, comes to life.
Once complete, McMaster’s Downtown Health Campus will see 54,000 patient visits a year, provide physicians to 15,000 residents currently without a family doctor, serve 4,000 students and be home to 450 McMaster employees.
