Meridian Centre Opening Week
Three major events took place in St. Catharines in mid-October as part of the opening week celebrations at the Ball-Rankin Construction Inc. completion and opening of the Meridian Centre.
On Saturday, October 11, 2014, Jason Ball joined Mayor Brian McMullan, Tom Rankin and other dignitaries and stakeholders at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony inside the beautiful new Meridian Centre.
On Tuesday, October 14, 2014, Cameron Ball, Vice President of Ball Construction attended the Hard Hat evening to give city and occupant representatives the chance to thank the workers for their hard work and excellent safety record.
The week capped off by an exciting Home Opener for the Niagara Ice Dogs against the Belleville Bulls. Forward Mikkel Aagaard opened the scoring early in the first period which led the Ice Dogs off to a great start. Fans were treated to an exhilarating game to christen their new arena ending with a 7-4 victory for the hometown Ice Dogs, much to the pleasure of team owner Bill Burke.
