Ball Completes TG Minto Addition on Tight Timeline
TG Minto is a global company that researches, develops and manufactures products for various industries, from Tier-1 automotive to agriculture and telecommunications. Ball was awarded a general contracting/bid spec project to expand their existing building for paint booth equipment, at their location in Palmerston, Ontario.
In order to build the addition onto the existing structure while keeping the current paint booth operational, we had to fully coordinate all of the scheduled work before construction could start. This also meant pre-ordering all the long-term delivery items well in advance so that we could maintain the schedule, which called for a very aggressive timeline.
Fortunately, Ball was uniquely suited for this industrial sector project because we had previously constructed multiple additions to this facility and knew about the challenges and requirements involved in working around this building. The basic project specifications included a steel structure with hollow core precast floors and insulated metal panel wall cladding.
Ball met all technical requirements and the project was finished with superior quality. The project was completed on February 29, on time and within budget.
