Safety Is Never Wasted
The Kitchener Waste Water Treatment Plant upgrade is a joint venture that includes Ball, Maple Reinders, and the Region of Waterloo. The project includes a third layer of filtration that feeds into the U.V. system and is scheduled to go into operation in the fall of 2017.
On May 9th, the combined construction team from Ball Construction and Maple Reinders came together on site to hear an important safety talk by Rob Ellis of MySafeWork.
On hand was Jason Ball, President of Ball Construction, to welcome all the workers and subtrades as well as Harold Reinders, President of Reinders, Richard Junkin, Regional Manager for Ontario Clean Water Agency, and Kyle Walton, Director of Operations at the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
Joining Rob on stage was Suzanne Johnson, Ball’s Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator at Ball Construction, who spoke of the many benefits of the higher company safety standards to which Ball holds its entire group accountable.
As part of the presentation, workers were asked to sign the Jerseys of Courage and League of Champions jersey. These represent the hundreds of men and women who make up the League of Champions for Job Site Safety across Canada.
