Ball Completes Interior Fit-Up for Cosmaroma
Ball is pleased to announce completion of an interior fit-up project at Cosmaroma Home Renovation Supplies, located at 780 Wilson Avenue in Kitchener, Ontario.
The project involved construction of an office inside a commercial space with washrooms, a lunch room and a mezzanine boardroom.
Cosmaroma specializes in flooring, mouldings, stairs, trims and accessories. As part of their new 28,000 square-foot commercial space, they required an office space as well as a mezzanine boardroom—each needing to be 1,000 square feet. The completed area contains a showroom at the front entrance followed by a sales counter with the remaining space available for material storage.
According to Ball project manager, Dan Perry, “The timeline was fairly tight. We needed to finish quickly so the tenant could continue setting up their display and loading materials for a spring opening and take advantage of increased construction during the summer months.”
For speed of installation, we designed the interior structure out of wood with our own forces. Additional fire protection was required in order to achieve the proper fire ratings due to the wood construction.
Ball was especially suited for this project because we had constructed the base building. We already knew the details for the office space required and could therefore design and construct it efficiently.
This project was successfully completed on time and on budget. The owner is very pleased with the space, particularly the board room with its wrap-around windows that overlook the entire facility.
