MURS Arena Project Breaks Ground
We were happy to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for West Lincoln Township’s Multi-Use Recreation Site (MURS), located at 177 West Street in Smithville, Ontario. The event took place on September 6th.
Ball will be working at the existing site while maintaining active arena operations during construction.
At an estimated cost of $23.6-million, this design-build project consists of a new NHL-sized arena, walking track, gym, library, splash pad, skateboard park, playground and walking trails.
A site plan approval (SPA) submission and a foundation permit are under review for this 91,500 square-foot facility. Meanwhile, electrical demolition is already underway.
The building is designed to meet LEED Silver certification requirements.
Ball looks forward to working alongside the Township of West Lincoln and Architecture49, with an anticipated project completion date of January, 2019.
