Ball Completes WLU Peters Building Renovations
Ball is pleased to announce full occupancy has been achieved at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Frank C. Peters building. In addition to remaining as the School of Business and Economics, the building now will also accommodate various programs in arts, music, science, education and graduate studies.
With over 100 changes from the original scope of work and many other adaptations that naturally occur while working on an existing structure, the project schedule was extended. To overcome challenges, Ball worked closely with the trades, the consultants and campus representatives to expedite modifications and approvals and mitigate lost time. The project also saw several changes to architectural and supervisory personnel. As construction managers, our collaborative efforts with all stakeholders including consultants, engineers and client representatives resulted in many creative and economical solutions.
Despite hurdles, our subtrades performed admirably. The work, which unfolded on a busy university campus, remained accident-free throughout the project.
With renovations now complete, Ball is currently on site doing the final finishing touches to the three-storey, 76,000 square-foot building.
