Waterloo Co-Op Residence Phase 1B on Track
Waterloo Co-operative Residence Inc. is a non-profit student housing co-op that accommodates many students from both the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. Ball successfully completed Phase 1A in 2016 and was subsequently awarded a construction management contract for Phase 1B. Located at 280 Phillip Street, in Waterloo, this 137,832 square-foot student residence project is now well underway.
The concrete footings and exterior walls are ready to accept precast columns, walls and slabs. Meanwhile, backfilling and waterproofing of the exterior foundation walls is in progress.
This 9-storey precast structure will contain 189 units, administration facilities, student amenity services on the main floor, lounges, a landscaped podium and an underground parking garage.
The $22 million dollar project has an anticipated completion date of September 2019.
