A Message From the Safety Department During COVID-19
At Ball Construction, safety culture is determined by our leadership, our co-workers and our work practices. As the global community unites to combat COVID-19, we believe that a strong safety culture requires collaboration, integrity, accountability and determination. In fact, as safety champions, Ball is uniquely equipped to address both short- and long-term business challenges and formulate project-by-project solutions in the face of this new work environment.
Our safety team has been developing and updating plans and procedures for office and jobsite operations that are compliant with applicable standards and OHSA regulations. Examples include reiterating safety policies and precautions, following physical distancing guidelines, enhancing sanitation measures, restricting third party visits, quarantining employees exposed to confirmed cases and monitoring employee health with our self-assessment tool.
Being at the forefront of construction health and safety, Ball Construction has agreed to a request from the Grand Valley Construction Association (GVCA) to have our comprehensive pandemic policy utilized as a template to assist other organizations within the industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) construction sector.
As a conscientious and contributing member of the construction industry, Ball Construction continues to monitor developments with COVID-19 while closely following guidance from Ontario Public Health. We will continue to update all stakeholders as new information becomes available.
