Humber River Centre set to be Innovative Hub for the Bolton Community

Once seen as the Fire Hall in the heart of Bolton, this space has been completely transformed. The space is now unrecognizable to what it once was. The modern, clean and bright space is known as the Humber River Centre, a space the community will grow to love quickly. The centre will act as a local hub for the community, hosting several community events year-round. The centre provides a space for community members to come together, gather, get creative, and grow as a community. The space offers a large multi-use space, a commercial kitchen, multiple meeting rooms and a maker space, all in all, creating an innovative hub for the members of Bolton.

This new centre will not only be beneficial for the community of Bolton but the environment as well. It was the goal from the start of the renovation to make this building as energy-efficient as possible. The Center uses only LED lighting, on-demand water heaters, Spray insulation, energy recovery elements and High R-Value window assemblies. Not only will having these energy-efficient features keep costs lower to power the centre, but the environmental footprint will be substantially smaller as well.

A focus with the Humber River Centre was to ensure it would be fully accessible for all community members to enjoy, and we can proudly say that was accomplished. The building entrance is accessible, as the front door and all other doors are power-operated. There are fully accessible bathrooms on both floors of the centre, and an elevator was installed as well. Other accessible features ensure the space is ready to welcome everyone in the community!
