Green Energy Construction
Wind and solar farm technologies are an affordable alternative to other sources of energy. Ball Construction has worked on several wind and solar farm projects including the following:
Nextera Wind Farm, Parkhill, Ontario
Ball self-performed the concrete work and coordinated the grading and excavation for the electrical substations. Using our own crews, we were able to ensure great quality and maintain the construction schedule to meet tight deadlines.
Jericho Wind Energy Centre Transmission Line, Municipality of Lambton Shores, Ontario
Ball Construction installed the foundations for the above-ground pole lines, to transmit the generated power from the substation to the main power line grid. The coordination and safety control required for working on highways is extremely important when constructing the foundations for the large concrete poles. Traffic control, tie-off procedures and testing of materials are all important when working on a pole line.
Essex Energy Solar Installation, Tecumseh
Ball installed 2,170 Canadian Solar panels for this General Contracting/Bid Spec. and Construction Management project. This grid connected system prevents the emissions of 208 tonnes of carbon dioxide per yer, powers 70 homes for a year and is the equivalent of taking 70 cars or light trucks off the road.
Vollmer Athletic Complex, Twin Pad Arenas, Tecumseh
For this General Contracting/Bid Spec. project, we installed 1,204 roof-mounted solar panels.
